All of us are going to undergo aging but health experts say that there are always ways for us to undergo aging gracefully. With the many anti-aging regimens that we know of, perhaps instead of fighting the process we can go by it with less hassle. In order to age gracefully, a person must be into regular and proper exercise, have a healthy and balanced diet and make sure to get ample sleep and rest. You don’t need to wait at a particular age to all these, in fact, no matter what your age is right now, you can start fighting off the negative effects of the aging process. The secret to anti-aging is not really fighting the process but rather fight its negative effects. So even at a younger age, you can already take steps that will help you age gracefully. Here are a few ways on how to go about it.

Water is the secret to aging.

Water is a very important component to a human being. We can live for weeks without food but we cannot last that long if we do not take in water. The fact that our bodies are made of around 50 to 70 percent of water probably explains how water is crucial. Our body loses 1/3 of water every day because of normal metabolic processes such as perspiration, respiration and urination. Thus, waiting to be thirsty just to drink water is not a good idea because even if we drink when we thirst, we are prone to dehydration and dehydration can only speed up the effects of aging. According to health experts, drinking 2 to 3 pints of clean water every day will keep our bodies nourished with fluids and keeps us away from dehydration. A well hydrated skin that is moist, soft and clear helps us undergo the aging process gracefully. 

Eat right.

The kind of diet that you have has a large effect on how the skin’s capacity to regenerate itself. Thus, eating foods that are high in nutrients, is ideal in keeping the body strong, healthy and even allows it slow down the aging process making you appear younger than you are as well as giving you that healthy glow. Make sure to choose foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals and go for the fresh and unprocessed food. 

Avoid sun rays.

According to a research done on sun rays and how it affects the human body, it was noted that we need a certain amount of sunlight in order for the body to produce vitamin D but too much of this sun rays also has a negative effect most especially on the skin. In fact, health experts say that if it were not for too much sun exposure even at the age of 80 years old our skin would stay smooth. Sun rays only adds up to the many factors of premature aging so to age gracefully, as much as possible avoid too much sun light.

Drink alcohol in moderation.

There are occasions where avoiding alcohol can be hard but if possible, it would be advisable to drink it in moderation if you cannot avoid it. Alcohol contributes to many negative effects on the body such as a weak immune system causing the body to be highly at risk for diseases. As to its effect on the skin, alcohol causes dehydration because it deprives the body to absorb moisture that is need to keep the skin soft, smooth and glowing. Alcohol also greatly affects the liver which helps in removing impurities of the body. So if you want to age gracefully or be young looking, avoid alcohol or drink in moderate amounts only. 

Smoking won’t do you any good.

Another vice that will not do any good (even if you are not fighting aging) is smoking. Smoking has been noted to significantly cause a number of bad effects to the body. Beginning with the skin, smoking causes premature aging because it causes constriction of the blood vessels not allowing the skin to absorb proper amounts of oxygen which also is important in maintaining the body’s normal function. Cigarettes contain a number of harmful ingredients which will only cause premature aging. People who smoke appear older than their age and are noted to develop or have diseases related to the heart and lungs usually and also causes wrinkles, fine lines and other skin problems. 

People say that what we go through with the body could also be due to the genes although this may be partly true, still there are ways on how we can take good care of the body especially when it comes to aging. So if you want to age gracefully, make use of the helpful tips.
