Anti-aging Skin Regimens

Our skin is not just something that we can show off and let other people see how glowing and healthy we are, but it also serves a specific function which is to protect us from the environment that we have. Apart from this, our skin also serves other important functions for our body. As we age, one of the first things that we notice is the change happening to our skin. It eventually becomes thinner and more prone to injury and wrinkles. Hence, it is essential that we take good care of our skin and one of the ways to do this is by coming up with an anti-aging skin regimen.

Anti-aging Skin Regimen Tips

Smoking is bad for the skin.

This is perhaps one of the best anti-aging skin regimens that anyone can get. Notice that people who smoke appear older and this could be because of the premature aging of the skin. The side effects of smoking doesn’t just affect your lungs and other people’s lungs too, instead, it takes a toll on your skin. When a person inhales smoke, whether it’s done intentionally or not, it causes constriction of the blood vessels that can lead to poor oxygen content in the blood stream and other organs of the body. This makes the skin look saggy and dull. Apart from smoking, drinking alcohol is also a no-no because it may cause dehydration which can also affect our skin’s elasticity.

Always moisturize and rehydrate.

Skin experts say that as we reach the age of 25, the skin starts to age. One of the first signs of this is having dry skin. The lack of water and moisture can add up to this making the skin look dull and flaky. It will eventually appear less shiny and appear to have circles and spots. With this, the best way to make the skin look glowing and practice an anti-aging regimen is by drinking lots of water. Drinking 8 glasses or 2 liters of water a day can keep the skin moisturized.

Keep away from the sun.

This could already be a cliché as we have noticed how it is much publicized but this is really a very good anti-aging regimen. This may also be ironic because we know that the sun can also help us in a way but constant and prolonged exposure to the sun especially during noon towards the afternoon can be harmful to our skin. It can cause wrinkles, flakiness, dark spots and blotchy skin. Due to the thinning of the ozone layer, the UV rays of the sun has become hazardous for us and because our natural filter is at risk, this rays can penetrate deep into the skin and cause mutation of melanin causing premature aging. A good way of fighting this harmful UV rays is by applying sunblock to parts of the body exposed to the sun most especially the face. For anti-aging and keep the skin protected, look for products that contain SPF15 and higher.
