On the other hand, there are also women who may live with the father of their child but still feel like a single mom most especially in instances where they are the only ones making a living for the family. At this point, we can now see how broad the term single mom is.
Challenge of Being a Single Mom
If there is one thing for sure about the concept of what a single mom means, it would be the fact that being one is not easy at all. To raise a family on your own will really require you twice the effort you must place because you basically have two roles—being a mother and being a father, all at the same time. Being a single mom also means not having the luxury to be able to produce an income in the household that both parents can make but even so, addressing and accepting situations like this make it easier to adapt to the role you must have.
It is crucial to bear in mind that being a single mom does not necessarily mean you have to be on your own or you are alone at your situation. In making big decisions, it is always important to consider the interest of your child/children at all times.
It is true that being a single mom is something that a lot of people are not keen in talking about but it does not mean that being one means being a failure.
